Like most parents today, we found ourselves in a familiar battle — the screen. Whether it was tablets, phones or the TV, our kids were drawn to them like magnets. And while we understood the world they were growing up in, something didn’t sit right with us.

We wanted more for them. We wanted better for them.

Where It All Began

Between us, we bring together a background in education and engineering — two worlds that, when combined, open up a universe of possibility. We’ve spent our careers understanding how people learn and how things are built. And yet, when we looked at our own children — our bright-eyed son and our endlessly imaginative daughter — we saw something that worried us.

They were consuming. But they weren’t creating.

We wanted to give them toys that made them stop and wonder. Toys that made them ask why and how. Toys that put something in their hands and said — build this. Make something. See what happens.

The Magic of Making

There is something profound that happens when a child builds something with their own hands. When they stack, connect, wire, design or construct — something shifts inside them. They stop being passive and become active. They stop watching the world and start shaping it.

We started small — a few building kits on the kitchen table, a simple circuit set, some experiments in the backyard. And something magical happened. The screens were forgotten. Our kids were alive. They were curious, focused, excited — asking questions we’d never heard them ask before.
